At 8:30 in the morning we started our tour to the east side of Sri Lanka, Arugam Bay. We passed Galle and stopped short after in Unawatuna for having breakfast. We found a restaurant at the beach and we were not disappointed to continue with the laziness of the local waiters. But we met the laziest one here in this restaurant. When I ordered the breakfast menu (fruit juice, toast, egg, sausages and coffee) and he told me “very very busy” and that it is to much work. A lot of work although we were the only six guests in the restaurant. After all, when we ordered the bill, he asked if we pay all together “because of toooo much work”.
Then we return to our destiny and in the way we enjoyed very nice views and stopped to bring some beers and food, and I had my first experience in a “jungle toilette”, I think I’ve overcome all my problems with hygiene.
When we arrived in Arugam Bay we had some dinner in Thai restaurant and after more deviled chicken for Cuno, we went to the terrace of our guesthouse and we enjoyed the cold beer.
In the morning Cuno, Ralf and I decided to take a walk by the beach, but we couldn’t take a bath because the waves were very strong, even so we help the local fishermen to push their boat out of the water to the sand. After this powerful moment Cuno and I went to eat in an Indian restaurant with nice waiters, the best rotti ever.
Like all its about food, when we arrived to our guesthouse Peter and Sarah were preparing with Kosala and other guys a fish barbecue with a big tuna and lots of prawns, that we enjoyed with a most perfect garlic sauce that I’ve ever had. We drank some fucking arrack (very strong kind of palm “ron”) with a good soundtrack and then we went to sleep with the sound of my haters frogs.
